Venture Patrol: Have YOU Got What It Takes?

Scouting Adventure Powers Up To A Higher Level In The Venture Patrol!
And The Requirements Are Powered Up Too.
Philmont, Northern Tier, Sea Base, Rock Climbing are a few of the Venture Patrol possibilities.

“Venture Patrols feature many exciting and demanding ultimate adventures and sports activities. “

For example, a Venture Patrol might spend 2-3 months learning how to paddle and portage canoes, brushing up on orienteering, and researching the food and gear needed for long journeys in the wilderness. With these skills mastered, they may then plan and set out on a canoe-camping ultimate adventure-with miles of canoe travel, finding their way with map and compass, and pitching their tents each evening on the shore of the river or lake.

“For real excitement beyond our council district, it’s hard to beat the national ‘high-adventure’ bases of the Boy Scouts of America.”

Designed for older boy scouts, Varsity Scouts and Venturers, each natural base of the BSA offers training, equipment, and support you will need to set out on a wilderness trek that will challenge your skills, strength and willpower. Like the following:

• Philmont
• Northern Tier National High Adventure Base
• Florida National High Adventure Sea base
• Mammoth Cave, Kentucky
• Environmental awareness/conservation treks
• Appalachian Trail/Smoky Mountains
• National and World Jamborees
• White Water River Rafting
• River and Lake Canoeing
• Rappelling
• Spelunking
• Rock Climbing
• Black Powder Rifle Shooting
• Horseback Riding
